WHO

US + YOU!

We would love for all our family and closest friends to celebrate our joy with us. It took us 8 years to arrive here — in a garden under the stars. Bring a coat in case it gets chilly!

WHEN KLARISSE MET DAVID

WHEN KLARISSE MET DAVID

WHEN KLARISSE MET DAVID

I remember the time I met David because it was right after I had gotten back from a trip, right after I was moving on from someone else, and trying to meet people as much as I can. I remember being on Coffee Meets Bagel and connecting with this guy who said polar bears were his spirit animal. I think I said mine was a cat? And without much expectation, I asked where should we go on our first date.

We met outside of The Alibi Room on February 20th, 2016. He was standing by the entrance as I walked up. I thought he was cute, and as we went in, there was an ease to our conversation that I liked. We talked about so many things, and in my text to my best friend, I wrote "Welp my date was nice, he loves enders game and harry potter and ghibli." That night as we said goodbye near the parking lot, David leaned in to kiss me and I swerved, lol. The next day we had a spontaneous date, a real kiss; the rest was history.

That first year we met, I knew I loved him early on. He loved reading, was kind and smart, looked like a kpop idol... But he also liked to pace dates, while I dove in head first. I had wanted to tell him "I love you" first but he would put a hand over my mouth -- until finally one morning he took me to his favorite lookout point on Mulholland Drive. It was tender and vulnerable, and worth the wait. David was a slow burn to my impetuousness, my perfect balance, and he taught me (is still teaching me) so much about patience, service, understanding, and what real love and companionship is. In our 8 years together so far, we've traveled places, eaten so many meals, spent time apart and found each other again, moved in together in our first apartment, and then moved in with family during the pandemic, and now, embarking on our next journey together as husband and wife.

We're so excited to celebrate this special moment in our journey with all of you, our friends and family. To many years of love to come!

WHEN DAVID MET KLARISSE

WHEN DAVID MET KLARISSE

WHEN DAVID MET KLARISSE

Klarisse and I matched on Coffee Meets Bagel, and she was the first one to reach and comment on my profile description that my spirit animal was a polar bear. This was my favorite part of my profile, so we were vibing off to a great start before even meeting in person. We met for our first date at the Alibi Room in West LA, February 2016. She was wearing a black leather jacket with a long, dark floral skirt, and had an oversized Ghibli’s No-Face phone case. Randomly, we were also wearing literally the same exact watch (that’s another story for later). Needless to say, her look was on point, and we talked for hours connecting through our shared love for adventure, movies, reading, food, The Strokes, and food. When it was time to say goodnight outside the bar, I felt the urge to lean in for a goodbye kiss (“eeeeeeeee”) and did so. She deflected me with a deft turn of her cheek, which I laughed off in an irregularly deep baritone that betrayed my internalized face-palm. She just smiled and laughed, and we said goodnight with no mention of the horrific (in my mind, at least) incident. To my surprise, Klarisse set up our next date the same week, making me realize that she handled her boundaries with impressive grace.

To my continuous surprise throughout our time together, she continued to always push and expand my boundaries of adventure to new heights than I had imagined. Whether it was with introducing me to film photography and pottery, to experiencing new cities and its food, or attending arts and cultural events, I fell in love with Klarisse in knowing her generous, fiery, and beautiful spirit. A real Aries, if you ask me.

Although we’ve already been together for 8 years, I’m giddy knowing that we’re just starting a new chapter and era of our lives full of joy, excitement, and adventures. With this as our baseline, I’m optimistic about facing the unknowns, struggles, and difficult times together with her, as we all inevitably do. I’m so happy to share our wedding day with everyone here to begin this journey. Let us party!

Attire

We love seeing our friends dressed up and want you to take this opportunity to wear that gown or that suit hanging in your closet! Is it a soft pastel lavender or a dark moody green? Even better! We're calling our attire "garden party" so feel free to wear florals and color. Both ceremony and reception will be outdoors and it might get chilly at night in November, so bring a jacket!

Here's a Pinterest board of looks we love for inspiration!
